#270: Leaders are paid to be dreamers

Before we start, I want to thank Angel Food Catering, of Belleville, Michigan for becoming a Founding Member! Western Wayne Counties Premier caterer, and venue!

Wouldn’t it be great to be paid to daydream?

Well, here’s a surprise - you already are!

Why is it important to delegate and empower our teams? Because we need more time to think. Yes, we need to spend time on day-to-day activities, but it is essential to devote and schedule time thinking about the future. Your impact as a leader is to see and remove future obstacles. The more you empower your teams, the more effective you can be as a leader.

I am not only talking about dreaming years ahead but also a few days, weeks, and months as well. When will you train your team to improve if you see mistakes in their daily activities? How are you going to grow next quarter over this quarter? What market trends do you see that are going to change the way you do business in the coming years?

If you are a restaurant owner spending time doing the shopping, counting inventory, and designing your social media campaign, when do you think about the future? You only has so many tables, so your growth is fixed, right? How can you grow your average ticket? Can you flip tables faster? Maybe you increase your meals to-go sales? Can your kitchen be used for catering?

We all know the benefits of having time to think and dream. We all know that a day is only 24 hours long! This article is going to give you a tip on how to create time that you need!
