How to Improve Response Rates, and Write Better
Having trouble getting emails open? When they are open, are your target customers taking action? Are you a content marketer? Do you use email as your primary sales tool? When you review your mails and materials, does it inspire or create a desire to take action?
The answer is as easy as this. It is a simple & proven formula that copywriters have used for years. When you write anything, from email marketing to epic blogs, you should keep this acronym top of mind.
A.I.D.A. - Attention, Interest, Desire, Action
I recently spent a ton of money ($3.99 at Amazon) and purchased “This book is going to teach you to write better” by Neville Medhora.
In this book, Neville explains this acronym very well and thoroughly, but here is the R&D Version (Rip Off and Duplicate) …
“Create attention with your headline” … Ask a question, or present a solution to a problem with it. When you write a headline or an email subject line, take at least 4 stabs at it. Then, test it! Here is quick and free way to do that:

When you find the correct headline, then work on creating an interest. I have learned that you shouldn’t start a mail or promotion with “I learned through reading in another blog” really quick. You should peak an interest with statistics, or asking a common question, listing the issues that the reader may be having. For example, in this blog I’m writing “having troubles doing this?” or “Your customers aren’t taking action” … This is going to create some level of interest.
Then, it’s desire … which I tried in this by saying “The answer is simple, and it’s free”. If you have a proven method of anything, from weight loss to high fuel efficiency, this is where you list the answers to the questions in the "attention/interest" area.
Now you need them to take action … This is where you ask; If you want more of these tips about how to improve your business, contact me for a free consultation.
There are of course many more types of ways to close the letter and asking to take action. I could ask you to Click Here for a Free Copy of My eBook. You should be creating urgency as well, but a lot of that is already known by you.
