Tips: Overcoming Obstacles
“Stay committed to your decisions, but be flexible in your approach”- Tony Robbins - Success lies beyond those obstacles. Plus bonus articles for some weekend reading!
Stay committed to your decisions ... your approach may differ than original intent, your path might be off course, but the key thing is that you stay true to your decision & principle. When you change your principles often, people will question your path in the future. The Captain of the Titanic steering straight ahead, because that is where he was supposed to go. We all know how that worked out for the passengers and crew.
Tips:
Don't ever think you are guiding anything that is indestructible. You can alter your course, yet stay true to your principles. It's okay to compromise in pursuit of the greater good. Be flexible in your approach. If the process tells you to do X, and you know Y is better, just do it.
As a good leader, you should know what your options are in case any obstacle is put in front of you. Strategic & contingency planning, developing an action plan, writing out the process, anticipating objections, having prepared responses is part of every day issues is the keys to success. You will run into an obstacle that you may not have anticipated, just be careful before you forge ahead, is it a bump in the road? Or the tip of an iceberg?
